Webbie feat. Lil’ Boosie & Lil’ Phat – Independent (Video Premiere)

“Independent” is the first single from Webbie from his album Savage Life 2. It features Lil’ Phat and Lil’ Boosie. I’ve been raving about this song for a few months now, and finally it’s picking up mainstream. It’s topped the Top 10 Hip-Hop/Rap charts on iTunes and soon it should be in the Top 10 in the entire iTunes much like Wipe Me Down did. It’s already peaked #3 on the U.S. Billboard Hot Rap Tracks, #6 on the Hot/R&B/Hip-Hop Songs and has reached an impressive #24 so far on the Hot 100.

The song contains a sample of Webbie’s “Bad Bitch” in the chorus. I called this song on how it was going to tear up the charts if it were to ever hit mainstream. It seems like Lil’ Boosie can make the tracks hot, almost.. too bad his latest hit Gon Joc with Haitian Fresh & Wyclef isn’t going to go much of anywhere. You can check it out on his MySpace.He tries to claim “First we Wipe Me Down, now we got the whole world Jockin!“. The hook goes something like: No one cares and the beat sucks, so it’s going to flop.. gon joc gon joc gon joc. Sorry, this is the the slow death of Webbie, Lil’ Boosie and their group they have going. Unless they make something hot like Independent again – which I don’t see happening anytime soon.. there are going to be some ringtones sold but not much more.
