[…] “My First Kiss” by 3OH!3 ft. Ke$ha (Odds 25:1): As we make our way further out into left field, we find a douchey band featuring the latest in a long line of pop tarts. While Ke$ha burst (stumbled?) onto the scene this spring with “Tik Tok” she completely jumped the shark with her comically WTF? appearance on “Saturday Night Live.” Apparently no one told Ke$ha that we’re all OK with Lady Gaga being bat-shit crazy because her songs are really catchy and she seems genuinely talented. We’re not about to let you go prancing about on stage dressed in glow in the dark paint like some kind of neon alien spouting off insane theories about the human condition. Sorry. On the other hand you’ve got 3OH!3, a band that I didn’t think could be any more inane until I actually saw what they looked like in this video. At multiple points during the repetitive chorus, the “also ran” member of the band (seriously dude, the quicker you realize that you’re the Andrew Ridgeley the better) seems extremely pleased with himself because he can sing the chorus for his own song. Wipe that smug look off your face, delete the T-Pain auto-tune app from you phone and realize that you and the Spencer Pratt look-alike guy are not long for this pop music world. But because Ke$ha and 3OH!3 are both currently pretty big draws in the pop world, expect this song to get heavy radio play that will keep it at least looking competitive for the title for most of the summer. Sad, but true. […]
