The song was written by Perry, Dr. Luke, Max Martin and Bonnie McKee, and was produced by Dr. Luke and Max Martin.

It is the fifth single from Perry’s third studio album, Teenage Dream by Capitol.

The 8 minute clip recalls a crazy house party, the night before, as Terry wakes up to the messy aftermath. Kenny G, Rebecca Black, Corey Feldman and Debbie Gibson all make cameos. It premiered in mid June 2011 on Katy Perry’s official YouTube VEVO channel.

The music video for “Last Friday Night (T.G.I.F.)” was filmed in May 2011. It was directed by Marc Klasfeld. It was co-directed by Danny Lockwood.

Former teen idols Corey Feldman and Debbie Gibson make a cameo as Kathy’s parents Kirk and Tiffany Terry. “We invented Fridays“, he says with purpose at the videos end.

“Last Friday Night (T.G.I.F.)” has already peaked at number sixty-three on the Billboard Hot 100 and number forty-nine on theCanadian Hot 100 because of digital sales.
