Drake – ‘Summer Sixteen’


Summer Sixteen” is a promotional street single from Canadian recording artist and rapper Drake. It is the first promotional single from the highly anticipated and the long awaited studio of his, Views from the 6.

The single, “Summer Sixteen” was released via social media networks (such as YouTube among many others) in early February 2016. The song premiered on OVO Sound Radio and was released for digital download on January 30, 2016. ‘Summer Sixteen’ was released on Drake’s official #Drake YouTube channel as a single on February 6th 2016.

It was produced by Noah “40” Shebib, Boi-1da, Cubeatz, Brian Bennett and The Winans. The track features two dynamically different productions much like a previous song from Drake, ‘0 to 100 / The Catch Up‘.

The song samples the outro of the song “The Question Is” by The Winans and contains a slowed down sample of the song “Glass Tubes” by Brian Bennett. It features uncredited vocals by DJ Khaled.

“Summer Sixteen” debuted at number six on the Billboard Hot 100 on January 30, 2016, selling 215,000 downloads in its first week; these sales became the highest debut sales of Drake’s career.

Despite “Hotline Bling” blowing up it is a non-album single, along with his other singles “Charged Up“, “Back To Back (Meek Mill Diss)”, and “Right Hand“.

Work” is the lead promotional single from Barbadian recording artist Rihanna‘s eighth studio album, ANTI.

The track features Canadian rapper, performer and recording artist, Drake. It was produced by Boi-1da, Noah “40” Shebib, Kuk Harrell.

Anti was made available for free digital download on January 28 through Tidal and was released to online music stores for paid purchase on January 29. The album was launched to physical retailers on February 5.

Back To Back (Freestyle)” from Canadian rapper Drake, is the more famous “Meek Mill Diss” that was aimed towards label mate American rapper Meek Mill.

In July 2015, Meek Mill publicly dissed Drake on Twitter, calling him out for not writing his own lyrics.

On July 25, 2015, Drake premiered a track, titled “Charged Up” on the Beats 1 OVO Radio Show that is widely seen as a response to Meek Mill’s allegations.

Headlines” is the lead first single from Canadian recording artist and actor Drake‘s upcoming second studio album, Take Care.

The song, produced by Matthew “Boi-1da” Samuels and Noah “40” Shebib, first premiered on Drake’s blog October’s Very Own on July 31, 2011.

R&B singer The Weeknd provides background vocals on the song.

I’m On One” is the second single and music video from DJ Khaled‘s fourth studio album and the first album on Cash Money RecordsWe the Best Forever.

It features rappers DrakeRick RossLil Wayne.

The music video premiered in late June 2011 via WSHH.

“Even for stars, there’s vulnerable moments, but at the end of the day, we’re on one. This is it. This is what we dreamed about,” explained Drake, who collaborated on the video with director Gil Green.

“The whole idea is it’s not that polished glamour side of Miami, it’s the real side,” added Green. “The idea of this video is very dark, it’s very dreary. The imagery is very seductive and moody and edgy.”

I’m Single” is a single from rapper Lil’ Wayne‘s mixtape No Ceilings. A video has been shot for the track. It has also been confirmed on an MTV interview with Young Money artist Drake, that he re-did the hook for “Single” but does not know if or when this version will ever be released.

The song was released digitally on May 11, 2010. The track is Co-produced by Noah “40” Shebib and Omen. And a version features Drake on Lil’ Wayne eighth studio album, I Am Not A Human Being.
