On April 19, 2010 the album’s official promotion began with the release of a viral video for the album’s title song “Basic Instinct (U Got Me)”. The song sees the singer speaking about the return to her R&B/urban roots and ditching the pop sound of previous records. It’s music video, which was directed by Phil the God and features a cameo from The-Dream.

People are done seeing the same shyt over and over again. Ciara doesn’t grow with her music and I feel like thats one of the set backs. And we all know she cant sing, she is wearing auto tune out. She showed us all that she can do and now she just needs to fall back for a sec and regroup. And its not about being a hater, it called reality and the proof is in the numbers. Fantasy ride sold like what, less then 200,000. Now thats just fucked up. truth hurts. I liked ciara but she is not the only one that can pop and shake ass, the shyt is just really played out.
I agree with you on that. I love Ciara but I got her new album and I was very upset. She only have 3 good songs. And if the Dream cant help yo numbers go up, then maybe we need a time out. I love her just as much as the next but Nicki is killing everything right now even for the R&B singers. They should have really pushed this album back for the summer.
