“Two Steps” Lyrics ^[4]
Song by PJ:

Intro
I would want you to stay on
I would want you to stay on

Chorus
Two steps forward, three steps back
Two steps forward, three steps back
Two steps forward, three steps back
Wasting time I can’t get back
Two steps forward, three steps back
Two steps forward, three steps back
Two steps forward, three steps back
Wasting time I can’t get back

Verse 1
D***, I’m supposed to be with you, but you sorry
Never thought I could see a man so ungodly
Never thought I could see the good in somebody
Vagabond, did me wrong, you not sorry
Say you love me, why you use me?
It’s illusions, it’s a doozy
Keep your distance, ‘tll you need me
And now you wanna act, look, I’m not surprised
The way you tell your story, lies just jump the page
Before these people ever knew your f*****’ name
My girlfriend always tell me that I care too much
Whatever it is I give, you give me just enough

Refrain
But still I hit you up and we reconnectin’
It means I left my self-respectin’
And all across the headlines
She on her way like last time

Pre-Chorus
I’m going

Chorus
Two steps forward, three steps back (Love me)
Two steps forward, three steps back (Love me)
Two steps forward, three steps back (Love me)
Wasting time I can’t get back
Two steps forward, three steps back (Love me)
Two steps forward, three steps back (Love me)
Two steps forward, three steps back (Love me)
Wasting time I can’t get back

Verse 2
Jaded and faded and twisted up
Light and the dark, I just mixed it up
Stabbed in the back by the man I love
Maybe you’re the only thing that stitches it up

Refrain
When I hit you up, we reconnectin’
I know I lost my self-respectin’
And all across the headlines
Yeah, she on her way like last time

Pre-Chorus
I’m going

Chorus
Two steps forward, three steps back (Love me, I’m going)
Two steps forward, three steps back (Love me, going)
Two steps forward, three steps back (Love me)
Wasting time I can’t get back
Two steps forward, three steps back (Love me)
Two steps forward, three steps back (Love me)
Two steps forward, three steps back (Love me)
Wasting time I can’t get back

Outro
Can’t get back, yeah, yeah
I can’t get back
I can’t get back
I can’t, yeah, I can’t
I can’t, I can’t
Ooh, yeah-yeah-yeah, I can’t get back
I can’t get back, I can’t get back
Can’t get back, I can’t go back, damn
Wasting time I can’t get back
