“Commander” is an upbeat Dance/Pop song and the first single from singer Kelly Rowland‘s upcoming third studio album.
The track was written by Rico Love and produced by David Guetta.
Rowland who decided to channel her inner Diana Ross looks stunning on the cover. “Commander” hits US iTunes on May 18 and her new CD will be out later this year.
The video was filmed on May 5, 2010 with acclaimed Japanese music producer and promo director, Masashi Muto. Muto’s previous works include “I Will Be Here” for Dutch DJ Tiesto, numerous music videos for some of the most popular Japanese artists, including well-established collaborations with Japanese R&B and pop superstars Namie Amuro and Ayumi Hamasaki, and promos for Pepsi, Honda, and Sony. The song’s writer, Rico Love will make a cameo in the clip. Rowland revealed to Rap Up TV that the video has a futuristic theme in which she will play the commander, and that it will bring something new to the club scene.
