“In The Dark” is the first promotional single from female R&B / Pop singer and songwriter JoJo‘s upcoming mixtape Can’t Take That Away From Me. The song was produced by Jordan Gatsby, and has a very “experimental” sound to it.

The mixtape will be released online only on September 7th via Rap-Up.

Rnbmusicblog notes, She has said that the song is different from anything that she has every made before, and also said that the record is “sensual with a tone of sadness to it.” It is interesting to hear her after her hiatus from the music industry.

Her lyrics have evolved and are much deeper now than they used to be, and her tone on the song is very different from the fun loving teen most of us remember.
